We only spent 24 hours in New Hampshire. We drive across Vermont all day, then ate and slept in NH, then we continued through New Hampshire the next day on our way to Maine.

White Mountain National Forest

Rek’-Lis Brewing Company

We ate dinner at Rek’-Lis Brewing Company, which was a great little brewery in the middle of no-where in Bethlehem, New Hampshire. My husband and I both had delicious meals, enjoyed the local beers, and listened to a great live singer. If you ever find yourself in the area, this place is really worth stopping by for a meal.

Gotham

Gotham is at the northern most point of the White Mountain National Forest. We slept in this cute little city before continuing on the next day. Make sure to stop by White Mountains Cafe and Bookstore in the morning for some breakfast and coffee before beginning your journey through the mountains south. Apparently Hillary Clinton stopped by this cafe during her presidential campaign.

Mt. Washington Auto Road

The Mt. Washington Auto Road has been open since 1861, and it is a steep eight-mile scenic road that leads up to the top of Mount Washington, the highest peak in the Northeast. Make sure to look out for the sign so that you do not miss the entrance.

Mt. Washington Summit / Observatory Weather Discovery Center

The Mt. Washington Summit / Observatory Weather Discovery Center opens 10AM daily, but be sure to check the website for weather conditions because they sometimes close the roads for certain types of vehicles.

Cathedral Ledge

Cathedral Ledge is located south of the Mt. Washington Summit, and it is a beautiful granite rock that many people hike and climb. Right near the cathedral ledge is a waterfall (go early, we tried to go but the parking lot was complete full), and an Alpaca Farm.
